hey guys.. i have a 84 cutlass supreme... i am stuffing a chevy 350 in it and finding headers is becoming extremely difficult. jegs is telling me that the supreme factory motor placement is offset to the right. if this is true does anyone know why? or better yet does anyone have an answer to the question... i need headers that can fit.

When you're swapping in that small block chevy, you'll have to change the motor mounts out to ones for a small block chevy. Since all G-bodys essentially came with the same frame, when you change these mounts and put them in the right places, the motor will now be where a small block chevy would be in any other G-body. Therefor, you can use headers from any G-body that was equipped with a small block chevy. For example:

Drogg1 is dead on here,
That was the Next thing I was going to tell you You will need to make sure you Change to the Correct Mounts for your engine and Car BUY GOOD ONES dont Skimp on this part of your build.

thanks for the info...one more question...u wouldnt happen to know what mtr mounts i need and exactly which holes in the frame i need to put them?

Offset engine in a Supreme is a myth that somehow started back with the early A-body's ('65 and up) that has now somehow been applied to the G-body as well.

It's a myth and the engine is not offset any different than any other car that isn't a supreme.

Why won't this myth die? I just don't get it. I can't believe there isn't one single intelligent person who works at one of these places who's smart enough to realize what a crock this whole 'headers won't fit Supreme models' buisiness is. They're costing themselves sales and have been for years, all due to their stubborness ( or would that be 'stupidity? ).

There's a million dollar reward for a SWB 403. Maybe there should be one for the guy who can once and for all convince one of these idiot companies to stop with their 'Supreme models are different' BS and just admit they are/were wrong and end this nonsence.

Cutty360, just get some mounts from a Monte with a 305 and take notice of what holes you unbolted them from. Of course you could just drop in an OLDS 350 in your Olds and not worry about changing the mounts at all....
