I swapped the 305 in my SS for a Gen I 327ci out of a '69 Impala. Now just like the subject says, I want to put headers on it as the RH manifold is cracked. Question is, do I look for headers that fit the 305, ones that fit the 327, Or- being that they are both Gen I small blocks- should I get headers that fit the car? Also, some suggestions on brand would be helpful as well.

You'd get headers to fit the vehicle. Not sure what brand fits the best...

any sbc has the same headers. i have flowtech in my ss and they fit good. the passengerside i had to grind the a-arm down alil but not much at all

Thanks! Kinda figured all sb's would fit, just wasnt 100% sure and didn't want to fork over ~$300 for some pipe shaped paperweights.

If you want some nice mid length headers I'd go with the Hedman 68600. Great fit and easy plug access.

We just put a set of headers on my friends 82 El Camino that we had dropped the 69 350 from my 81 police Malibu.
The heads have large rectangular ports and round ports headers leak everywhere.

He bought a set of these....
Right header loads from the bottom and driver side goes in from the top. EASY FIT.

Thanks all for the suggestions  Looks like the Hedman 68600 may be the way to go...but those Dynatechs look pretty sweet.

I bolted the headers to the engine just an you see on the picture and then dropped everything bolted together in the car. Plug changes were a breeze.

Only reason I'm not using them now is I went with a manual trans and these will not clear either a hydraulic slave cylinder or the mechanical linkage. They do fit an automatic trans great. They are now in my nephew's car.

I went with the Flotech Afterburners.........They fit really well and are a great header..JMO
