heat riser

Hi I have an 83 El Camino an i'm looking to get rid of the heat riser anyone no of a company that make such an animal or an alternative method of deleting this restrictive pos. any help would be appreciated thanks 😀

No kit necessary-just do it. Remove the bracket with the actuator and all the vacuum lines. Plug the vacuum port on the carb., and wire the butterfly valve open. Replace the TVS switch in the thermostat housing with a pipe plug. Done! I've done the same on every SBC I've owned since the EFE valve was introduced in the 70's. At the same time, I'll drill out the rivets in the choke housing on the carb, and tap threads for machine screws. Being able to dial in the choke adjustment is a necessity for decent driveability without the EFE valve.

No problem. Join the club. I was an ASE Certified technician, and have felt that way plenty of times when I missed a simple solution trying to "overthink" the fix.
