i'm taking apart a heater box i just received in the mail.i want to take the back side off it so i can install the front side ( the side in the engine bay ).i'm stuck on one of the doors in the back.it seems like it is pressed in and i don't want to break it.has anyone taking this apart so i don't destroy it.

Why are you taking it apart like that?

Are you trying to gut it to just use the shell?
If that's the case, just buy one of those block off plates.

Those door hinges are pressed together.
If you want it to work correctly, don't take that sh*t apart.

I am under the impression that you are trying to split the front half from the back half? In hopes of just running the front half or "engine bay side" of the A/C delete box with your existing system, essentially you just trying to change the cover? Because if you are, that will not interchange, you need a complete system(duct work, controls, cables, everything), they don't have the same back sides, nor are they interchangeable in that way.

But if you simply just wanted to take it apart, there are screws on the back side, and you then must remove one of the arms(press fit onto) on the end of a door flap rod to actually separate the front from the rear.

yes that is what i want to do.split the two halve apart.i'm trying to put the unit it in but it's a very tight fit and i don't want to break it.if i can split it i can see if the front half ( engine bay side ) will fit with out destroying it.
