I have a question with regards to the heater box in my AC equipped Olds powered G-body.

I'm planning to replace the defective blower motor before we get to springtime. Anywho, as with most of my projects I pull what I like to call a 'Columbo' and say "One more thing". So while I'm at it I figured that I remove the top of the heater box to do a clean out & replace the heater core. Since it's been about 20 years since removing a heater core in a G-body I can't recall if the job just requires removing the 10 screws on the top side of the heater box? I seem to recall that this is a straight forward job. True? Amy tips?

You'll have to remove the wipers, the stainless cowl trim at the base of the windshield as well as the two support brackets in order to get the top cover off.
Once you have all the screws out, it will still take a little wiggling to get the cover to slide up and out.
Go slow and be careful, you don't want to crack the cover.
Get a pack of 3M Strip-Calk to seal it all up nice when you put it back together.

Thanks for the tips!

As I mentioned, it's been a long time since I've done this job on a G-body; and I can't recall the two brackets that you,re talking about. Also, should I also use the strip caulk between the blower motor and cover?

It actually got above thirty degrees here today and felt like a heat wave, so I got outside a got this project done today! Not bad at all. The easiest heater core that I've ever worked on. I once worked on a friends Ford PU truck and I could swear that they build the truck around the heater core! DONE!
