Heater control removal, UPDATE!!!

Not wanting to tear it up, how does the HVAC control head come out of these cars? :? 😳

Should just be four screws holding it in place. There will be a bunch a colorful vacuum lines that you will have to pop off and a short cable will also have to be unhooked :idea:

What I guess I really need to know is does the wood grain panel just pop out?

There are 4 spring clips that hold the faceplate in place, carefully pull it out and it will come off. The connector for the cig lighter always seems to catch on the dash but it will come out.

I pulled the hvac head today and the valve body disc retainer button and spring washer were missing, causing my vacuum leak and lack of vent opening in a/c. Took the parts off a unit that came with the car and repaired it, now all works correctly.
