Hey All,
Here is my question....
My motor is out and I'm cleaning up rusted, worn and old parts in the compartment. I pulled off the heater control valve and my plan is to replace it. Looking at the rusted interior, I can't tell if it's supposed to be open normally and closed with vacuum OR closed normally and open with vacuum OR does the heat open and close the valve like a thermostat does????? If it's heat I would assume that it's normally closed?????
Last is finding one of these on line. Can't find much of anything on Summit or Elcamino store, at least not one that looks like the one I pulled of my 80 with A/C.
Anyone have anymore info that could help?

Thanks
Darrin

Application of vacuum closes the valve, thereby keeping freshly heated coolant out of the heater core when the A/C is on. You don't need to go online-just go to your local parts store, as the valve is still being made by a number of companies.

Thanks, Ill do just that.
