So I have an 80 regal with climate control and I hate vacuum lines. I was wondering if anyone had removed the climate control for a cable or electric style controls. I would think that a cable setup would be the easiest route as all the levers are still there they just have vacuum diaphragms/actuators attached to them. If you have swapped for cables/ electrical controls could you post photos please?

That post referenced above was my install of the electronic controls. For info, it still uses all the same vacuum lines. The only real change is that the manual cable that opens the blend door ( blending hot air with cold AC air) that is manually controlled by the lower lever on your current controls, is activated via an electric motor in the Electronic version. So bottom line, if your desire is to get rid of the vacuum lines, really no way except to maybe pick one way for the airflow you like ( dash vents, Defroster, Heater at feet) and "fix" the system in that position. Even that may not be easy.

Thanks for the info. Darbysan that elky is awesome. The leather Acura seat and the GP center console look great. Actually I wonder if the 03-08 GP base model controls are all electric I love the ones in my 07. I'll do some digging and if it looks possible I may just swap the whole heat/ac systems out of one of the GP. I'll keep you updated. Once again thanks for the info.
