when i started my el camino i noticed water running down the floor board and on the firewall so im guessing its the heater core that went out. but my problem is how do i take it out and put a new one in? its got A/C too

You have to remove the top of the heater box under the hood. You have to remove the trim piece at the bottom of the windshield remove some screws and the top comes off and you will see the heater core.

WOW....That is like a dummy guide to a heater core replacement right there, that is awesome!!!

I did not know you could change it successfully that way

i wouldnt run a delete plate if u lived in the Northern states....If you wanna go out on a nice cool autumn evening and go go cruising and freeze ur nuts off thats all on you!

Can someone tell me what a delete plate is?

A delete plate is a piece of sheet metal, stamped & drilled to cover the hole left in your firewall after permanently removing the heatercore or airconditioning. Not sure why it was brought up. - Jon
