heater vacuum line question

I noticed after looking under the hood of another gbody that I am missing the purple vacuum line that comes out of the heater and goes to the vacuum canister. Where do I look to find where that vacuum line originates. I have the white line that goes to the water valve but no purple line. Is it a pain to run a new one and if so where does it tie into the actual heater box....under the dash inside the car or firewall side?

Funny you ask that. I was tearing all the old wiring out of my car today and seen where it goes, I have a 1982 Regal so I am not sure if others are the same.

It is inside the car, passenger side on the firewall. I am a little forgetful but I think I had the glove box out when I seen it. It was all the way to the right about half way up.

thanks at least I know now its on the inside of the car originally it gets tight on that corner where the heater meets the inner fender!

Oh yeah, it's a b*tch to get in there from the engine side.

pull off the passenger side kick panel, you will see the computer harness wire going through the firewall. It is directly above that. If you do not have the purple line on that side, I am not sure what to tell ya.

Also, feel around under the heater box. Mine was tucked under it and I had to fish it out.
