I'm doing an LS based motor swap in a 88 Monte SS. All week has been nothing but twisting wires together and soldering, trying to read complicated wiring schematics etc. Solder smoke has damaged my brain and lungs . And my fingers are bleeding and blistering from twisting wires together it hurts to type lol.
Jokes aside I want to clean up the wiring under the dash. Anything that had something to do with old engine I want to remove if I can. Really just concerned with retaining all exterior and interior lighting/controls. I have removed the old computer to the 305 and all its wires that went through the fire wall on passenger side.
Onto the gauge cluster connector I have found a pinout to tell me what wire is what. I've since cut and labeled each wire so I now know what needs to go to the Dakota Digital brain for new gauges.
I cut off the connectors that went to the old ECM and traced some of them back to the steering column area. Where I hope you guys can help me identify by technical term.
Under the dash left side of the steering column
Left side of steering column.
REMOVED IMAGE #4. Found out what the top connector is for, not sure about the two bottom ones yet.
Top of steering column.
Back of steering column.
Bottom of steering column.
REMOVED IMAGE #8. Found out what it was.
