I got a 1985 monte carlo ls I have had for about four years now. I built a 383 with vortec heads for it and it has a turbo 350 transmission and the stock rear end. I rebuilt the front end with new springs, shocks, polyeurethane bushings, and all the steering linkage. I also put sidepipes on it. It needs paint, I fixed the rust on it and it is currently about 7 different colors. Future plans are a 12-bolt (I got an extra one when I bought the chevelle) and a manual transmission.

Hi
Welcome aboard.

how did you route the sidepipes? i've got them on my car but i'm not too happy with my routing or the lack of ground clearance.

Hopefully I get a camera for Christmas and then I will post some pictures.
My pipes are hooked up the following: header - short piece of flex pipe - u pipe - j pipe - side pipes. I got the u pipes and j pipes in a kit out of jegs. I haven't had too many problems with them. Also I made a custom cross member which helped to make room for the exhaust.

ya custom x member is the way to go. would like to know how long that rear will last though
