Hi everybody,
I've been popping by this forum for quite some time, as I've always been a fan of GM's last of the, what I call proper cars, but only now registered.
I live in Bournemouth, right on the south coast of England, the proper old one across the pond that is, but are originally from Berlin/Germany.
Growing up there, we always had a lot of G-Body cars around from the US army personal and my very first car was a 1983 Olds Cutlass Cruiser.
That was quite unusual for an 18 year old, as all my buddies at College used to drive around in VW Golfs, BMW E30 3 series etc.
Unfortunately it died an early death as I got t-boned by a speeding Hot Hatch only 3 months later, so I bought another Cutlass Cruiser, this time a '79 Brougham with electric everything, even the rear door vent windows and parted the damaged one out. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun piling in the back, going to parties and generally cruising around for the next couple of years until I sold it to get funds for a '72 Cutlass S Hardtop Coupe.
And even until now, I still miss that Cutlass Cruiser and one day, I want to get another one.
Cheers Frank

Welcome and cool history with the wagons! Always wonder how many g-bodies are across the pond or in other parts of the world.

Welcome from Germany!

Always wonder how many g-bodies are across the pond or in other parts of the world.

GM officially sold some g-body models in Europe. In Germany you could buy the Malibu and Monte Carlo at least 1978-1980.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
The '83 was Canadian build with amber rear indicators & kph speedometer and sold new in Switzerland before it ended up in Germany. The '79 was probably brought over by someone in the US army. We had plenty of Malibus and Monte Carlos in and around Berlin.
I've never seen a G-body Cutlass Cruiser here in the UK though.

Welcome aboard, Frank.
It's always good to see other G-bodies from across the pond....especially G-body wagons. 😉
Does your car currently have the amber and red lenses? I know that they were required by Swiss law.
Post some more pics of the car when you get a chance. I would imagine that Cutlass Cruisers are relatively rare in Europe.
That's too bad about your '83 Cruiser. It looked like it was pretty clean before getting T-boned.
Your '79 is pretty cool looking.
