Hi Guy's, I am a newbie to these forums but not forums in General so i figured id better start with square one introducing myself. My name is Thomas I live in Frankfort Kentucky and almost a week ago I finally found and purchased a car that I have wanted since I was 16. I just picked up a white 1986 Monte SS , her name is Raven (I name my cars.) Unfortunately with my budget (have newborn 4 days old 😀) the car quality around my area is poor and everything i have found is overpriced so i had to go with a "Roller" I hate the fact that the car was molested but when I went to see her ( Drove 3 hours one way) I just couldn't stand to see her turned into a drag car or a donk with huge wheels. So $1,300 dollars and 180 miles later I have myself a Monte. Right now I am working on my plans for the car, but my end result would be a nice, strong running Monte, that has working AC and Heat. I have been working on cars since I was 12 with my family this will be my 2nd G-body (have a regal). I plan to do 90% of the work myself and plan on using a lot of your guys experience and suggestions. I have listed a little bit more about the car below including a pic, tell me what you guys think and if it was a decent deal!

1986 Monte Carlo SS

Pros

- Body is solid and has very little rust, floor boards are solid and not rusted through.
- Has T-tops and Floor shifter which i wanted
- Interior is above average condition, everything is original including radio. Dash has 0 cracks

Cons

- Missing the original motor, and whoever removed it did a hack job on the wiring which really worries me
- Its not running so i cant drive it!
- Does not have original Wheels

Well that's my introduction, I look forward to becoming a contributing member :blam: :blah: :blah:

Thomas,
Welcome to a great site! Cool project you've got. Seeing that the harness has been hacked, maybe a new harness for a factory looking LS swap?

Doug
