Higher mph speedo

Shocked but not surprised my new to me 85 t-type has a speedo that only goes to 85mph is there a replacement that read over 120mph for these cars or is that just wishful thinking??

If you have the Round style gauges, there was a 120 MPH version, and a much more rare 140 MPH version that was used in police cars ( IIRC, Malibus).

currently its the rectangular t-type dash with digital boost gauge and needle/analog 85mph speedo but i can change out he dash if need be since it is no longer a turbo engine.

anyone know how much of the monty dash i would need to change out and get the better speedo. the entire dash or just the instrument cluster?

I've seen decals for the Chevy clusters, just need a gear drive at the sender output on the side of the tailhousing to change the drive ratio to match the new speedo range. Maybe one exists for the Buick cluster?

looks like it may be easier to sell the factory setup and fab up something aftermarket but im gonna do some more looking since i have some time

Were you ever able to get a higher mph speedo that was a sweep style?

Nope was thinking of using the Intellitronix 6 gauge digital dash

1984 thru 87 Grand Nationals read up to 145 IIRC.
They have compaines that you send yours to and they put a new overlay(sticker) that reads to 145 then recalibrate it for you and send it back.
I dont remember how much it cost but it was under 200.00. I see if I can find a link for you.
