Hood scoop ??

ok i have a 1980 cutlass supreme tryin to find a hood scoop but i keep findin 81-88 cutlass scoops and the guy said he dont knw if it would fit because he don't knw the measurements so will other model cutlass hoods fit my car and i need help on picking 1 any suggestions?

So what kind of "hood scoop" are you looking for?

Your really only going to find one style of a bolt-on aftermarket hood and that'll be a cowl induction hood.

Those can be had from:

Beyond those, you'll have to buy just a scoop and have it molded into your hood.

As far as any other hood's fitting, your out of luck. For one, the body lines are completely different and wouldn't line up with yours.

How do you put on a hood scoop? Do you have to buy a new hood?

You either buy a hood with the scoop already a part of the hood or you have to buy a scoop and have it installed on an existing hood.
There's multiple ways to put a scoop on an existing hood. If it's a steel scoop you can either weld it or glue it with panel adhesive. If it's fiberglass it takes quite a bit more work to mold that to a steel hood and keep it from cracking over time if you mold it in.
Another option would be to bolt the scoop on with hidden fasteners.

And of course there are the really ugly ways like buying a scoop and just using 3M double side tape or riviting it on and letting the rivits show.
