Hello, just pulled out the stock motor in my 80 Monte carlo. I am putting a 355 in there and taking out the canistor and air pump. I am installing the AC and Heat again. There is a valve on top of the motor that the heat hose from the heater core went to.....Do I need this? All the plastic lines off the heat ball, do they just get hooked up to a vacuum source? The hose goes to the heater valve. You can remove it but it'll circulate hot water all the time. I'm not sure what you mean by "heat ball".
