Ok, I know this must be a simple fix like a vacuum line, but when I'm driving, there's a constant flow of hot air blowing at my feet.

Currently, the AC isn't connected (waiting for a new belt) and I usually drive with the setting on Max Cool in the hopes that the flap will close to prevent the hot air from blowing through.

Can someone point me in the right direction before I get a serious case of athlete's foot?

make sure you have a water valve on the line going from the engine to the heater box. There should be a gray vacuum line plugged into it. That restricts hot water flow to the heater core.

Also check that the temp selector knob slider is actually closing the heater box flap.

If your AC is disconnected the MAX setting is just cycling air from inside your car over the evaporator and heater core. If both are hot they are basically just a heat sink from your engine compartment and that is why it is so hot. Without freon running thru the system you are just making it hotter and hotter inside your car. On a hot day your car is like a greenhouse and you are making it worse keeping all the air stuck inside the car set on Max AC. Switch to VENT and it will suck air from outside into the car and out thru the door vents. Better yet roll down a window.

Thanks for the advice.

I found the water control valve and I think the vacuum line was lose. I reconnected it and it seems to have stopped the flow of hot air.

Thanks for the advice 🙂
