my transmission is acting up in my 86 regal limited with a 307..first i guess i should start with id'ing the transmission, its a 3 spd and the car has a limited slip rear with hwyish gearing..lol..how do id what transmission i have?
so whats happening is when it shifts into 3rd at cruising speed ..a few seconds after i guess it locks up?..almost feels like its kicking into od but not an od transmission.. maybee locking up early? because if im not hard on the pedal and just cruising speed and on off the throttle it goes into 3rd at 55-60kph kind of bogs down like it should maybee be in second..push on the throttle hard and it kicks down..or kinda wanders back and forth between 2nd/3rd. im not really knowledgable on how the lockup works and i guess it depends on the transmission. if im hard off the line and stay on it shifts into 3rd at 90Kph
i think the gearing is not great..any input is appreciated
cheers

Shape of transmission pan is how I do it

ok the # of bolt on the pan seems simple..the 200 and 350 have simular shaped pans and not sure i could tell the diff when crawling in the dirt under my car..lol..im tempted to go crawl around right now and find out 😀
thanx
so its a 200m

No surprise on the trans. Junk, get a TH350. Is that a US car originally? Most came with the 305 up here.

thats what i thought , it doest have the speedo in kph though..i do have a th350 with a shift kit and warmed up 305 out of my 1st regal i will probably drop that in because there will be nothing to have to buy right now and money is tight..i guess i will need a crossmember from the ist regal as well?
