i'm asking before i even take a look at it...i have a parts cutty that a co worker from work wants to buy the spindles and rotors for a trailer he is making...is it easy? and quick?

You need to get a good spring compressor(internal type) and compress the spring. Remove the upper/ lower ball joints and the tie rod from the spindle by removing the cotter pins and nuts, then use a pickle fork to separate them from the spindle. You can rent all of these tools at a parts store. Also, BE CAREFUL WITH THE SPRING!!! If that lets go, it can possibly kill you and damage a lot of other things.

torchin the springs is prob the way to go, but i don't have access to a torch at home...i told him i thought you had to compress the spring but he beg to differ..and i don't want to get killed by a damn spring! haha what a way to go huh....

Put a floor jack under the lower control arm, undo the lower ball joint, put a chain loosly through the spring and secure it(incase the spring kicks out), and then slowly lower the jack, and maybe some pounding...

Do note that if you sell your spindles, your parts car is now immobile.

Front springs are not designed to hold up the car, they are designed to kill you! Always treat them that way.

I have pulled them out like blake442 described in the junkyard but i used a piece of seatbelt. I know its not the smartest move as i didn't have a chain but it worked perfectly.

I should ad that if you dont have an engine in the car, it wont work very good.

You all do realize that if you simply leave the shocks in place, the springs CAN'T come out...

Thats what I did when I put in drop spindles on my old 81 Malibu just left the jack under the lower control arm.
