How many were built?

I was hoping someone(s) could point me in the right direction of where to find info on how many were built in this particular year, how many in that year were built with this option etc etc. Also, where can I find the numbers on the engine so to know if that is the original engine for that specific car?

If it's a G-body, you likely won't find much. Maybe T-tops and sunroof options, but that's about it. Apparently they didn't have someone on the inside collecting and breaking down all that information. It's spotty at best.

On an Olds V8, there is a little pad on the side of the block in front of #1 Cylinder right under where the head gasket is. You may need to wipe it with a rag. It will have a partial VIN.

Maybe I missed something here. What kind of car are you looking for info on? Any description you can give would be helpful.

yeah , more info needed . If sbc engine id info is under alternator on passenger side , or on block behind driver side head between block and firewall , if your looking for head info you will need to pull a valve cover and look at numbers there . There are several casting numbers books for SBC

It's under "Oldsmobile Cutlass / 442 / Hurst/Olds", so I'm going to guess it's an Oldsmobile!
