Hey there everyone! Just out of curiosity, I was wondering how much my car might be worth and what better way of finding out then from a bunch of knowledgable G-body enthusiasts!

Some information on the car:
I am the second owner of this 1986 442 that was originally based out of Arizona that has ZERO rust. It was an original hardtop, but was converted to a T-Top car by the previous owner (done very tastefully). The chassis currently has 116k on it, but the freshly built 350ci Olds currently in the car has 10k. The interior is about 95% has some minor flaws, but nothing major. The car was repainted the original color with a new stripe kit bought from Pheonix Graphics.

Here is a list of some of the things that were done to the car:

-350 Olds Engine swap Strong running low 13 secong street car
-Holly carb w/ electirc choke
-Edelbrock performer RPM intake
-MSD ditributor and plug wires
-Built 200r4 trans done by FB Transmissions
-ProTorque Converter 3000 stall
-B&M Quarter Stick Shifter
-Built 8.8 Pose rear with 3.42 gears
-Hotchkis rear suspension
-Eibach Pro Kit Springs all the way around
-American Racing Headers and Exhaust System
Full 304 Stainless Steel
-Hotchkis Cross Member
-American Racing Torq Thrust Wheels currently equipped (I own two sets of original rims)
-Mickey Thompson Drag Radials 275-60-R15
-New 225-60-15 fronts BF Goodrich

This Isn't everything, if i thing of anything else I'll be sure to let you guys know.

The car is a dream to drive and I'm complimented everywhere I go.

Here are a couple photos to give you guys an idea.

Have you checked sell history on E pay? It might help give you an idea. If the car was all original and correct it would bring more. The fact that it is rust free is a very good thing. If It was mine and I wanted to sell it I would remove all uncessesary stickers (including the passenger front 442 sticker) and put the factory rims back on it. I am guessing 4-5K in current condition. Price will vary by area and the current ecomony is not helping the value of our cars.

Considering the fact that it has the Olds 350 motor and the little upgrades here and there, and the mileage, I'd say it would be an easy $6000 at least, in current economy. If the economy were better maybe another $500 - $1000.

Thanks for your input guys. And of course, if I was to to sell it the stickers and whatnot would be removed and the stock rims would be sold along with the car. I've put a lot of money into the car and even if I got 10 or 12k for it I would still be losing tons of money. I guess it's really not even worth considering, besides I love the car and have no reason to sell other then maybe starting a new project.

Just a suggestion, apart from our opinion, it's a good idea to get a professional appraisal done -- that's the best indicator of your car's worth.

I would say you could reasonably get around $5000 for it. Because it has T Tops, I'm sure you could find an Olds G Body fan that would pay like $6000. This economy makes it hard to come close to breaking even on selling a car. This is a buyer's market for sure....

Just for comparison, my car has more work done to it than yours, but does not have T Tops. I paid $5500 for my car, with all the work done to it.

Do you know what he did to convert it to T Tops? Did he go through a body shop, do it on his own, or ? Thanks

I second this post....Area is a big factor....on the west coast, this car might bring 50% more than any other area. This economy is killing the collector car values. Right now is the best/worst of times for buyers/sellers. I keep track of ebay sales on all yrs of cutlass' on ebay and the values have fallen at least 30-50% since '09. I was considering selling my car last yr but Id be better off selling it for parts in this market. :blam:

Is your car an original 442? It has to add value to the car as opposed to a regular cutlass.

Mine is not an original 442. Modding a 442 or Hurst is a hard thing to do. Once you start modding, price is in the eye of the beholder. Some would say modifying would lower the value, compared to a stock 442/Hurst....while others think it adds value. How much value is hard to say.

FYI - There is an '86 442 with less miles on Ebay right now. $4500 with 2 days left. Maybe follow that auction to see what the market is getting. T tops too
