Lol Funny heading but seriously! I currently am building a 454 BBC for my 1985 Olds Cutlass. Running 10.1 compression and a .550 lift cam so it should rock. I am thinking its going to be close to 400-450hp range. My question is will my stock rearend hold up to this much power? Idk what rear end it is as far as ring gear size! :? I do know that it is a 10 bolt. What power are you people producing and whats the rear end setup? Thanks Zach

its a 7.5 inch 10 bolt if there are "Fangs" sticking out on the differential housing, its a 8.5 if there are triangles instead of fangs.if you go on oldsgmail they have a section to go to identify your differential

my friend is running a full blower on a bored bbc. he has used the 8.5 and the ford 9inch and is back to using the 7.5 and has no complaints now that he has moser axles in it.

OK! So..........I just looked and its def. the 7.5" What the HELL. I know for a fact that will not hold up to 500hp. What will I dont wanna spend 2k on a 9"

can try an 8.5 inch or get a good posi unit with some moser axles.

is it going to be a daily street car or a weekend racer?
