I just put the transgo HD2 shift kit and corvette servo in my 4l60e that's behind a stock EFI Vortec 5.7L w/headers. 3.23 gears 28" tires 😀

I love the shift kit but I think I'd love it even more with a stall converter. I'm a relative nOOb to the auto trans tuning scene so I am wondering what stall would be best for mild performance and DD use lock-up is essential for my highway driving.

Future engine mods would only include a towing/off-road cam for off idle to good mid range torque and heads to match. No high rpm stuff for this one. Peak powerband should be at 4800 to 5500 tops.

I'm thinking 2800 is the most I would enjoy but may be too much. Thoughts?

I found myself asking the same questions. So after deciding which company offers the best deals... I called them.
... they are the experts and will help you figure out what you need.

you need to give them all the spec's of your motor... heads, flow characteristics, port work, intake, carb, compression ratio, gearing, vehicle weight, and most of all your cam specs.
If you're lucky, the guy you're talking to will be able to guess where your car makes max torque/hp, and build your stall for that.

you need to tell them everything about the car, how you drive it, what you want to see out of the new stall, and you need to be honest.

... also, if you are planning for upgrades later, it is senseless to have the converter made now... as your future modifications may completely change the stall characteristics. OR, you can have the converter built for what you plan to do.

if you are going to keep thing on the low rpm range you should keep the stock converter, if you want to really want to have one 2200-2400 max you don't want so much stall that your bottom end torque is useless, generally your stall converter matches the cam that's in your car so you can launch within your power-band, I would recommend you talk to a transmission shop mechanic, and by that i dont mean some guy in a wig with eye brows that look similar to the McDonald's arches lol, couldn't help myself. 😀
