I have a question, if anyone can answer. Lets say someones gonna do an engine build with our stock exhaust manifolds. What do you think is the most HP/torque that can be made with them?

I'm asking because I think my 305 is on it's way out, and I want to put a 350 in. But I have recently just spent $700+ on my duel exhaust and don't want to have to junk it. I forget if it's 2 1/2 or 2 1/4, but it runs out the back and has glass packs. What's the most engine I can build that won't be choking on my exhaust?

for very little work they can make your current pipes tie into the headers and I am really sorry you spent that much on a exhaust with glass packs around here you can get on duel for around 200 bucks if you want glass packs

The mufflers themselves were only about $35 a piece, and $25 a piece for the tips. The rest was pipe and labour. And since I don't have a duel exhaust crossmember, the drivers side pipe runs along the passenger one until after the crossmember. Then over the rear and out the back.

You mentioned headers... I think I remember seeing ones that are susposed to bolt up to factory exhaust. Do they make ones like that or was I imagining it?

you can get shorty headers that will work with your current exhaust I am pretty sure

Hmm, well that's cool. I might go that route. But then again I'm just trying to do a cheap build. Plan to do a crate engine eventually. But that's gonna be 400+ HP, and will need all new exhaust, crossmember, transmission rebuild, and a new rear.
