I am wondering how I would go about changing out mu clutch fan on my 88 Cutlass supreme. It is very loud and pulling a lot of power and doesn't shut off . Is there something else I can use. or would it be best to just put a new one on.
the engine in there is a 305

get a new one! four nuts hold the clutch in place to (thru the pulley) to the water pump. The nuts may come out with the studs on the water pump shaft. Then remove the fan to clutch bolts (4ea) Depending on how much room you got between shroud and fan it may be easier to remove fan from clutch and then clutch from pump.

Get a new one. Make sure it is temperature activated. I would recommend an AC Delco one. There is a difference
