Just seeing if anyone knows if the misplayed dust brushes I believe gm22521771. Are available anywhere new or repop. I can’t seem to find anything on these and like everything else is probably long gone.
Thanks

Dhouldnt say misplayed… damn auto spelling!
Mid-plate lower dust shield.
You know you can just go back and edit your post.
Shouldn't say Dhouldnt either

I think someone WAS making these things at one time if memory serves. Maybe they weren't, I just cannot recall. I know they're doing repro everything else, even the special screws. That's the issue with even repro parts. Sometimes they're done on a limited run, and when the repros are gone, they're all gone. Considering ~6,501 possible cars would ever have them....not enough left in 40+ years to have a large call for them.

Eww. Spreadsheet says that if I DO still have them, they're in "office storage" which means there's 3 standup cabinets, a desk, and a file cabinet where they MIGHT be. This will be fun. I think I recall where I put them, but I'm getting older and older.

I have C&C instructions somewhere that says to trim the brushes near the ends where they land in the attachment point areas since they're obviously too wide otherwise. Just can't seem to locate that at the moment.

Here's a picture of what I was talking about I found online. For those that have a C&C "assembly manual" it shows the H/O stuff and how to install it. Brush trimming is on that page at the bottom. I just can't find my book right now.

This is an NOS "kit" I assembled and sold on ebay many moons ago and tossed in a repro boot I had made. You can see the brushes on the right sitting in the mid-plate. Simply some black nylon brush material half of it encased in a folded over piece of blackened sheet aluminum. But obviously it's not glued down. The mid plate has a wax paper on it you peel off to expose the sticky on top of the mid plate. It adheres to the rubber boot to keep it from moving around.

Brushes. Not much too them.

This shifter is from that 188 mile original 83 H/O. You can see where the brushes don't actually touch each other when installed correctly.

Very cool, I have seen that diagram but did not know about the wax paper and how it helps hold the rubber gasket.
I can’t even imagine going through your inventory, I would be amazed I’m sure.
If you come across any of these items I would certainly be interested. Thanks for the info and help.
