Hi Guys,
I am Thomas from Germany.
For some weeks I am the proud owner of a 87'er 442. I hope with your help the car will be a good dailydriver.
I need a lot of information to keep the car running.
Thank you

Hello and welcome from West Virginia. I spent 6 years in Germany in the 80's. I was in Kaiserslautern, Ludwigsburg and Wurzburg. Loved my time there.

Hi Thomas,
Welcome to the forum. There's a great bunch of guys here that will help.

One thing I encountered upon buying my '85 4-4-2 from the original owner in October 1999 was that the car would nearly stall when coming to a stop after the drivetrain fully warmed up (roughly 30 minutes). I tracked the issue down to a dead Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) solenoid. I replaced it with one bought from a NAPA auto parts store (about $40 at the time) and never had another issue with the transmission, which is a 200-4R overdrive unit.

I had talked to a number of other G-body owners who had the some issue and some even sold the cars because they couldn't cure the issue.

Your 4-4-2 looks great, enjoy it.
