I found a hole!???

So I was out and about doing stuff other day with the Malibu and I found a decent sized hole just above the heater box. It looks like it is an epoxy patch but I am not certain. I looked on my dads El Camino in the garage and his has this same epoxy sh*t in the corner above the heater box. I am wondering if this is stock and if this could be the cause for why it leaks when it rains? Will provide pics when I can.

Most likely that is the source of your leaks. I had Grand Prix that leaked onto the passenger floor whenever it rained. The problem was the seal that you mention
