So my stock carpeting is faded to about 4 different colors, it has water damage making it smell awful, and most importantly it is heavier than I'd like a carpet to be. My question is: Are there any companies that make a lightweight replacement carpet for g-bodies?

dont know how heavy this one is but gbodyparts has one:

Yea, I came across that while shopping for weather stripping today. It looks like it would be a tad lighter if I bought it without the rubber backing, but as much as I like gbodyparts.com they do get a tad pricey. I wouldn't be surprised if someone else had cheaper carpet, especially since I'm not looking for show quality.

I paid $120 for my new carpet from Summit. Im not sure how heavy yours is but my new carpet is lighter than my old moldy carpet and obviously looks alot better.

i bought a blue one from trim parts, didnt put it in, its for a regal

http://www.stockinteriors.com Just about every one that sells auto carpet gets it from these guys.
Regal 2 door carpets are $118 Rt now.

Factory carpet with the rubber backing weighs 40 lbs if that helps you. Check the sites shipping weights.

I just ordered new carpet from MikesMontes.com ....he gets it from accmats.com which I've always heard is the best...
I asked what the shipping weight was, the one I ordered with rubber backing was 37 lbs & cost $200/shipped , I was told the one without the backing was only 17 lbs & cost $145/shipped... I know what you are saying about the capet being heavy, but I couldn't imagine carpet without backing at all, I would think you would feel every detail in the floor pan below? I will post something once I get my new carpet...

Well thanks everyone for all of the suggestions so far. I may be going with Summit later just to "save on shipping" when I order other parts but I'm not done looking yet. I'm not too worried about feeling the details in the floor pan. As long as there's some kind of carpeting down then I'm happy.
