The turn signal broke last week and I thought it was the switch. I was getting resistance pushing down on the switch to turn left. Anyway, from what I can see, I think I need a lever, does anyone have one to sell? The reason I believe this, is the following photo. I think this black piece of metal is supposed to be on the turn signal?

It was attached to the turn signal switch and the lever is not connected other than the high beam switch. Thanks.

well this setup is much different than my Camaro, where on the f body, the turn signal lever is screwed directly to the switch. With the a body, there is a lever that is an intermediate piece between the switch and turn signal lever. I just ordered this and it shows how much the piece is missing from my photo above. Where the hell did it go and how does it fit onto the turn signal lever? I guess I'll find out when I get it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-GM-Steering-Column-Turn-Signal-Switch-Arm-ACTUATOR-new-OEM-7827038-/261506419959

With the lack of responses, am I the only one this has happened to?

UPDATE:

After I installed the actuator and a new switch, the turn signal lever was still binding when pressing down on the lever. I found out the turn signal lever pivot pin was worn. That was fixed and now it turns on the left signal and right signal with no binding.

Again, not sure if anyone had this issue. I guess after 38 years this could happen, especially with this design. On my Camaro the lever connects directly to the turn signal switch and that still works.
