i have a couple q's about ignition control systems..like msd and what not..
-what are the advantages?
-is it worth the money?
-can i use it even though my car has no computer?
-what is the main purpose(s)?
-good and bad about it

advantages--mutiple sparks to about 3000 rpm (varies from model)

worth the money--depends on your application and performance

yes you don't need a computer

main purpose--to provide you with more efficent fuel burning

pointless unless you have a high compression ratio, (higher octane fuels require more spark to ignite) it will privide a power spark

so if you have a moderate engine combo, i would just upgrade my stock unit or buy a high performance distributor it will work fine. if you got the upgrade route component matching will be you best option ei. an accel mondule will not perform the same on a msd coil and so on, so buy the coil that matches the module
