Ignition locka

I have a 1978 cutlass. Can I use an ignition lock replacement from a 1979.

The ignition lock in '78 is different than the '79-'88 locks. '79 up used a retaining screw as '69-'78 you need to break the casting flasing to access the release.

I looked up part number they said they were the same.

Not the first time they were wrong!!
