Hey guys.

Lately, my 442 (stock 307 4bbl VIN 9)has been a little hard to start after it's warmed up and ran a while. I have to push the pedal down a little to fire it up.

When it's cold, it starts up just fine with no more than the standard one-pump for the auto-choke.

I'm thinking possibly it could be the Ignition Module going out. Any opinions before I start chasing parts?

Thanks as always.

If it were the module, it would not start at all.I would look into a possible problem with the carburetor. It is possible that you have a percolation problem in the fuel bowl that is boiling the gas out of it. If this is the case, you need a heat shield under the carb to deflect some of the heat before it hits the carb. It could also be some other tuning related issue that I am not thinking about.

Fires up fine when cold, but after driving for about an hour or so, it's a bit harder to start.

If the engine is slow cranking after running, it could be that the starter is getting heat soaked and is slow turning, in which case it could be just a weak starter motor due to mileage, a bad solenoid( comes on a new starter) or excess exhaust heat over heating the starter ( common with long tube headers) or poor connections at the starter or battery, or even a bad chassis ground ( depending on how the grounds are distributed and where the battery is mounted). It could even be something as simple as bad ignition wires/plugs/cap and rotor, etc.
