Soo I havnt been on in months last time round I had a 83 malibu that I dropped the stroked out 383 in with the dart heads and lunnati cam and the turbo 350 it was a fun project and a even more fun driver hahaha but since than I sold it as well as my elco and vett and guess what I happen to come accross for summ 800 odd dollars yup a 81 malibu wagon 3speed soo im bak with a whole new aproach now its do I go 4 speed ,5 speed , or 6 speed im plannin on goin bbc with a lt1 t56 but only time will tell I drove 4 hours to reno for her ima get some piks up here shortly as soon as I remember how lol

Thanks yea man I was pumped when I first called and he confirmed it was a 3speed with all the pedal assembly there and it ran man I must of got him a deposit through western union within half hour hahaha and its pretty clean too ill probally clean her all up tommorow and snag some pictures and start a new build thread stay posted but I still dont kno whether to go 4speed due to the ease and conveince or go hydraulic with the t56 I really want 6 gears behind the big block

Awesome! Get some pics up here! We just did a '71chevelle Big Block, 6spd. The ONLY problem, was the kid (Good friend of mine) wouldn't listen and gave it too much cam, so the motor doesn't make any power downstairs. With a 3.73 it only gets like 1800@70, so 6th is practically useless unless you're rollin down a flat stretch at 90 or so, then being a full size brick, the passengers are usually whiteknuckled, wishin they were in a late model anything! Anyways, I'm doing an HO454/700R to my '82 and am going to the shop now to fit headers!!

soo heres some piks finally

il post some more as i go along

I know that GM built stick shift wagons, but I've never seen one until seeing those photos. I've actually seen stick shift coupes and El Caminos, and I've owned 3 Iraqi Malibus over the years, but those are the first photos I've seen of a wagon that's a factory stick shift car. Sounds like a neat project. Keep us updated.

yea i kno ive seen some on the net but never in person or came across one and i found one nd pikd it up quick im just going thru all of my options for trannys i kno i wana go big block but as far as transmission i want to go 6 speed but im still tryna round up all the parts ill need so if any one would like to chime in on some info i kno id need to switch to hydraulic clutch so all that like slave cylinder but what car can i snag that from to put a t56 6 speed in

Good score! That's how I got started, 81' Malibu wagon, 229 V-6, 3 speed Saginaw on the floor. My favorite was the Pontiac 400 I had in there with a 4 speed Saginaw. I kept it plain-jane, embarrassed a LOT of cars that way. Nice lookin' out, those are NOT easy to find.
