Hi there,

While I'm not new to A/G bodies...,I haven't had one for a decade.

I've currently come across a one owner 31K Cutlass Salon. It's Black with a black vinyl top, rally wheels, all the chrome trim, 5.0 307 V8. It has most options besides T-tops and power locks. It was garaged 99% of it's life and has never been driven in the winter. It's running on some nice raised white letter BFG radial TAs. The guy ordered it back in '86 and drives it a few hundred miles a year. He's getting rid of it to help his daughter go back to school. He says it's in excellent shape. It has a few scratches here and there.

The bad: When he lived in Ann Arbor Michigan, some thugs from Detroit scoped out his neighborhood and stole a bunch of cars.....,including his. It was gone for two months. When he got it back the trunk lock solenoid was busted, the steering column was busted, they ran wires from the battery to the trunk for a ghetto *ss stereo but hadn't installed it yet. And they put a half dozen dings in it.

He ended up bringing it to an Olds dealer and had a specialist work on it to bring it back to the original condition. He also had all the dings taken out. The only thing that is still messed up is the trunk solenoid. He hasn't been able to find the correct part...I guess he has part of it or something. I am supposed to check it out tomorrow.

I'm not sure that since it was stolen if that would be on the car fax or marked on the title.

He is asking $5000 for it.

What do you think???

Thanks!!!

1986 Regal T-Type

1987 Cutlass Salon

Depends on your area . But would be OK price here for a car with those miles . MY favorite combo color wise .

But the time it was "stolen" was it ran flat out for days? They beat them . So Your motor may last years or couple days .

I'd buy it . but for the price there r several out there. There r 5 on Craiges in my area right now with under 50000 miles From $4500 to $7800 for a 442

Thanks for the reply.

He said $5000 obo. I would probably start at $4000. It seems like he really wants to get rid of it.

sounds like a nice car! good luck!

Sounds like a good deal. As for the solenoid, like most things GM it was used on more than just G bodies. Try one from a B body of the same era as I believe they are exactly the same.

Welcome!

Sounds like a nice car.

My 442 was stolen and recovered before I bought it, and there was nothing that showed up on my title or carfax.
