hey guys, im pulling my 80 somerset regal apart to finally do something worthy with it, was gonna go a nasty sbc and all since my monte ss is gone. . . and then my buddy comes along with a deal thats hard to pass up:
he has a complete 3.8 turbo set up (87), motor with head porting, cam, aftermarket pistons, 60 trim turbo, wire harness, all accessories, intercooler, tubing, all lines and hoses, ignition, computer, basically everything but a fuel pump assembly, fuel lines from tank to fuel rail, chip, injectors, an exhaust after the cat, radiator, and of all things the power steering fluid tank.
I would have to get that stuff and a trans (was gonna go built 200 4r ( i know i have to add the frame extension)) and of course a rear to hold it all.

He wants 2200 for everything, is it worth it? is it gonna cost me a fortune to get the missing pieces? is it worth the agg or should i just get a real turbo regal?

Its worth it if the motor is good.
The main thing is he has the harness.
Try to find a baffled gas tank from a gn, go with an after market pump, and the fuel lines you can make yourself.
Those engines like taller gears so if you had a bop th 350 you can use that and still not be revving too high with out overdrive.

I would do it.
