interior dyeing door panels

first post. just bought a 87 cutlass supreme brougham, yellow/biege with oxblood interior. very nice car with 73,000 miles. will post pix when i take some. anyone ever dye the velour tops of their door panels? mine on my cutlass brougham are in great shape other then being faded from where the persons arm layed. it's the oxblood/claret color. if so where did you get the dye? any thoughts would be great. thanks, roger

I Haven t Tried It Yet,I Have A 86 Cutty,With Tan Interior,I Am Buying Replacement Panels For Complete Interior I Will Be Painting It All This Winter I Am Going Black. I Heard It Is Pretty Durable. Different Steps You Have To Do To Prep. Here Is A Site That I Am Going To Buy Mine From.

the site i posted sales the interior paint.cloth. go to youtube. type it in there are lots of videos on it. i thought you were talking about the plastic. my bad

I replaced the fabric on a restoration 10 years ago. I got my fabric from Detroit Body Products (Detroit Book). Why die it when you can buy the factory OEM material? Here's the link

I've looked in to it and I was told by many dye won't work. They say it is won't last. I end up getting a nice uppers door panels on eBay for $75. I'm going to take my old panels and get them recovered something custom.
