My headliner is sagging in the rear interior of cutty. Drives me nuts looking in rear mirror and seeing cloth hanging. Looks like the cloth has a bubble effect?? Before I freak am I able to insert it back into rear trim? Also I feel no moisture when touching cloth.
thanks guys.

hmm, headliners aren't easy. Trust me I've done them multiple times and I still dont have it down. If I were you I'd take it to an interior shop and pay 150$ for em to fix it up with new cloth.

I say do it yourself it is really easy I did the two piece one in my wagon and it came out great

first thing I did was to remove the headliner board then tear out all the factory tar paper on the roof and put in a layer of "Quickroof" it is like dynamat just way cheaper 15.00 for a 6" x 16' roll

and here it is in my wagon I used 2 rolls of the stuff for complete coverage

the put a complete layer of thermal barrier

then stripped the headliner board down with a hand wire brush to remove all the old foam then used 3m hi strength adhesive and alot of it to put up the new headliner material

Now I am waiting on the clips that I ordered to come in to put up the second section of headliner and the garnish moulding

here is the thread

I removed mine and had a shop recover it. Then I reinstalled it myself. I sure wish someone would supply the side and rear molding clips for the wagons. The fronts are readilly available, they are same as the sedan. I gave up looking and screwed them up as discretely as I could.

Before going to bed last night I looked again at liner and noticed that when I pushed the liner up against the roof it stayed in place. Just looked at it now,9hrs.later,and the place I pushed back hasn't moved down. :?

I'm going to try pushing the entire hanging spots back into place before i leave for work today and i'll let ya'll know results later.
strange if there is still stickiness remaining then how did it start to sag. I'm crossing my fingers!!

I am in the same boat been lookin for months about to give up and get some stainless screws like the ones for the rest of the interior and put them up that way

Yeah, I tried gluing the old ones to the new ones which kind of worked but then I touched them and they broke. If you look at the slots that the clips go into they are an inch long and a 1/4-20 screw can go in if you bevel the leading threads on a grinder to make them like self tapping screws. If you look at the molding itself there are tiny little "V" shaped indents along the edges that correspond to where the clips go, I guess to make it easy for assembly line workers to put the clips on in the right places. Those indents I used to measure where to drill the holes for the screws in the molding. Not only does that make the molding very secure, after I sprayed them with SEM flex-coat, only a real nitpicker would notice the screws.

Save the base from the broken clip. Buy new ones that are made for either the rear of a coupe or el camino( can't remember which I used). The base is all that is different. Use half the base of the new clip and half of the old one. There is a little jog in the base where you can slightly grind it down (3M 36 grit rol-loc ) to overlap the two bases. Drill 1/8 hole through both and pop-rivet. I epoxy glued over that for extra insurnace. Works great!

my problem is I threw away all the old broken clips because I would have never fiqured it would be so damn hard to find them

Got home an hour ago. would have posted then but had to sit down, have a cold one, and scratch my head.
As I said this morning,I gently pushed the liner back up into place.
When I came home it was STILL,sorry to yell,in place!!
I'm clued out,but not complaining.lol
I wonder if airflow from open sunroof would cause it to "bubble" out/down?
