Well here's the deal, I took delivery of the car last night. Problem is, I'm a big guy. I thought I'd fit fine but didn't realize the wheel came out so much. I'm eventually going to swap GTO seats in but for the time being, I really want to be able to move the seat back a little bit more so I can drive semi-comfortably. Is there anything that I can do to either the rails or the brackets themselves? I need another 2-3 inches to drive comfortably.

P.S. I have buckets.

Do you have a tilt steering column? If you don't I would locate one and swap it out.
If I wanted my seat to move back farther I would leave the seat tracks in their current location where they are mounted securely and use 1/4" plate and make 4 brackets to go in between the seat base and tracks to relocate it rearward.

I do have a tilt column. I'll be honest I really am not quite sure what you mean exactly. Then again, the car got to me at 9 o'clock last night while it was dark, and my interior dome is non-existent...which I also need to work on.

As far as the brackets you could make them one of two ways you can relocate the seat farther back on the seat tracks or move the entire seat assembly farther back by making brackets.
Relocating the seat on the tracks you would start by removing the seat from the floor and then there will be 4 bolts or studs that hold the seats to the seat tracks and you would remove those and then you would fabricate some plates that would be rectangular in shape and you would drill 2 holes maybe a couple inches apart and then you would bolt the brackets to the seat tracks and the other end of each bracket facing rearward and then you would mount the seats to the 4 rear holes and reinstall the seats. I would only move the seat back the least amount required.
You could drill additional holes on the seat mount end to try different adjustments

Now for moving the entire seat rearward if the studs on the floor mounts are long enough to accommodate an additional 1/4" for the plate then you could add plates there to move the seat rearward the same procedure would apply for making the plates with the only difference being you would want to drill and tap the rear hole and run a grade 8 bolt from underneath and this would serve as the new mounting studs for the feet.

I also feel the GTO seat could make you problem worse since they are larger and have heavy bolstering.

That doesn't seem too difficult in all honesty. As far as the GTO seats go, I know they fit as I've seen it done. And I do find them to be a lot more comfortable. And seeing as they are going in fresh, I can probably have an easier set up with them....I think. Thank you for the responses by the way. I know I'm going to be needing quite a bit of help with this one.

Yes I know the GTO seats can be done and a few people on here have done that but what I am saying is because of their larger size you might have to relocate them even farther back than your current buckets will require.

Oh that I know. And that isn't an issue since nobody will ever be in the back seat anyway. I do have another vehicle that I would use if need be. Even if the seat was pretty much against the rear seat it wouldn't be an issue for me.
