So i decided not to sell my monte carlo, i'm going to suck it up and just fix this flexplate and starter. But i'm still stuck with what to do with my interior.

Right now it's all tan, i plan on replacing the carpet and seats, i'm picking up a black leather pair of bucket seats from a 69' chevelle, and new black carpet.

This still leaves me with the pillars and everything else, including the sun cracked dashboard. Any ideas?? i could really use some input on this.

The thought crossed my mind to use Interior paint and dye's, are there any GOOD ways to actually pull that off? If not i was going to get it all re-wrapped in new leather, but thats gonna cost a lot of money so i'd rather try some other things first.

Ok so after reading that and seeing results, i'm going to paint all the plastics, and also i have a friend who can hit the plastics with a coat of real clear coat with his paint gun so it'll give the job a much more professional look.

But im still stuck with what to do about my door panels, any idea's? The top section of them is a vinyl/upholstery, and ideas?

Almost forgot, where can i buy some of that SEm vinyl prep and paint?

I buy my SEM products through my local Finishmaster. However, most auto body paint and supply type places should have it. Just check the local yellow pages.

Do you really think clear coat is necessary, or even a good idea? If the coating is too thick, it will inevitably crack and peel.

Also, normal automotive clear goes on fairly thick. If you use it, you will probably lose the grain of the plastic, making it look even less like real imitation leather than it normally would. Then again, if you want it to be smooth, it wouldn't be a bad idea.

My interior pieces are painted with black automotive paint and clear. I'm gonna redo them in semi gloss because its too shiny imo.
