hey everyone i have an 83 cutlass supreme and i would like to know what seats (front and back) would swap in with out alot of modification?

also i have a column shifter and i want a center console can i switch the shifter and make in it the console? and if so how hard is it?

thanks;

any g-body seat will fit without major modifications. Find a parts car and get all the parts for the floor shifter and console or get an aftermarket floor shifter.

you will want that floor shift column too, but yes I'd recomend finding a complete Calais or Salon for the right Cutlass interior and pull EVERYTHING. From there you can decide what needs replaced. Other likely donors are Regals (since the doors are the same - just remember the 1/4 windows are not) it will just be a goofy looking mis-match ... if talking strickly seats then any apropriate G-body should do ... There are still further options but you start to get away from "bolts right in" and "fits with no modifications"

What about other, non G Body seats???? Anyone done it? If so does anyone have pictures? I was thinking of something different, but need to have the fronts and rears out of the same car so they match.

You could find f-body front seats. The rears will not fit but if you hunt you kind find G rears that will match pretty close. They are the same vintage, so the styling is often very similar. I run F-Body PMD fronts (same seat as G PMD's) in mine with a cutlass rear and after they were all dyed the same color you can hardly tell, and this is with leather fronts and vinyl rear.

got any pic's? I'd like to figure out how to use Aurora seats. I've had 2 Auroras and the seats are very comfy but the rear is sooooo stupidly shaped I don't see how I could make it work.

im gunna get some 99ish grand am front seats and have the rear seats covered to match

that looks good. Dammit again. Almost forgot you had T Tops, I want T Tops!!! Wish I wouldn't have sold the G.P I had last summer now

Yeah, the T's really help with interior photo's. You always regret the Grand Prix's you sell. I had a red and black (stock) 2 tone hard top '84 before this car. I got rid of it when I needed money after I had this one.

It was a real clean car with a bench seat. I sold it for $1400. Ran into the guy about 18 mos later and he bitched that he had to put another $1700 in it (exhaust, front end, tune up, etc). My answer was, "so for $3100, you have that Grand Prix with new Exhaust, Front End, tune-up, etc", you got one hell of a deal! He actually agreed and apologized.

I know it is off topic - but I love that story. Never sell a GP, you WILL regret it.
