Is it family?

I was wondering, is a Chevy Celebrity part of the gbody family? I see two of them on my local wrecking yard webpage. One is an '85 and the other is an '88. Both are wagon models.

No. A-body, if my memory is correct.

I am partial to those A-body wagons from the 80s and 90s. We never had a Celebrity, but my family had a Pontiac 6000 and later a Buick Century. I had the option of hanging on to the Century in '07 and I didn't. I should kick myself as that thing was ultra reliable and practical.

If A-body, would there be any body/interior parts that can be swapped to a G-body?

This is why GM should of kept our platform as A's after '81 instead of making the FWD X based platform A's from '82 to '96.

OK, I guess I'll just ignore the Chev Celebrity as a parts donor when I go back to the wrecking yard again.

Some of them have nice steering wheels similar to the Monte SS but in different colors.

Well, maybe I will check one out after all. Do you think that the whole column will interchange as well. I have been trying to read all of the threads on steering columns, but have not seen the Chev Celebrity mentioned.

The columns will not inchange. Only another '78-'81 A/'82-'88 G will interchange with the big differences being '78 columns have a splined lower shaft as '79-'88 are not, '82-'88 have washer controls on the turn signal lever.
