is there a lot of new projects going on. Looks like almost everyone is at the beggining of their project. In a few years theres either going to be a lot of junked half finished projects or a bunch of nice show cars and weekend cruisers. Maybe the gbody market is starting to pick up some more.

Lots of projects for sure.....A lot easier to start than finish, much less do it right. Mine started as a "quickie paint job" As I looked it over in the shop, it wasn't safe for my wife to drive. 2+ ys later it's still apart and she doesn't want it any more........so now it's MY CAR! 😀

Mine started out as a quickie too. I had wanted to learn to weld on something that was not valuable, I had the Cutlass and it needed rust work, and umm... yeah. It was apart for 10 years! Original plan? 1-2 months.

Ha! My original plan for my Charger was 1-2 months also. Ended up being 19 months before it moved under its own power, and in all reality it's still not done. Of course, I believe that a true project car is never finished; there's always something that I want to improve. Eventually, I'd like to fix the car's biggest handicap by converting it to RWD. But that's WAAAY down the road.

As for the Regal, I'm not setting any deadlines. I'll take my time, do everything right, and not cut any corners. But I will NOT ever abandon it again, come hell or high water.

The singular biggest piece of advice I can give anyone is DON'T TAKE MORE THAN ONE CAR APART AT A TIME!!!! Ideally, only own one project car at a time. Finish it first, then do another. I had 4 cars apart at one time when the Cutlass was apart, and that is part of the reason it took so long. As for what they were, Here is the rundown of the other three: 1973 AMC Javelin AMX 360/Go Pack, 1979 AMC Spirit with a 360 swap, and a 1995 Nissan Sentra wreck rebuild. The Javelin wound up sold for parts, the Spirit I still have and I did drive it for a year or two but it never was right, the Sentra was bought to flip, but wound up my daily driver for several years until I wrecked it. I also have had my truck in various stages of disrepair during this time, and usually could not afford to keep 2 cars going at once, let alone build any of my projects into nice cars. So, now I am down to the truck, Cutlass and AMC Spirit. The Spirit is my first car, but will be sold off within the next few months with the rebuilt engine from the AMX put in it. The money from that will buy the new wheels, and other stuff needed to finally complete the Cutlass. Had I not started all these projects, my life would have been simpler. Don't make my mistake. Keep it simple unless you make good money and have a stable situation.
