Is there any known fix for this? Broken quarter window stud

Installing the quarter windows I broke the window stud. Any way to fix this? Thanks

If there was more material there I would install a stud with a helicoil, that pot metal is crap.

install the window w/actual urethane instead of butyl this time and you won't have to worry about it.

Okay guys attempt number 1 here I'm using JB weld to glue the stud back in. I will let it cure a while and let you all know how it goes.

Do the broken one last. From the outside. Push in on the window while installing the nut. Once the nut makes contact with the surface. Another 1/16 of a turn and call it done.

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do other than what you're doing.

The only other potential way to do it, and it's NOT an easy task, is to remove the chrome trim from a good used quarter window. Doesn't matter if it's a non-vinyl or vinyl top, the chrome trim is all the same. The rubber is the only difference. You can carefully push out the metal trim from the rubber. I've got a spare set of nice chrome trim just in the event this same crap ever happens to me.

Alright so for those interested the JB weld did absolutely nothing. Broke again at the first sight of any torque. I guess I'll be rolling studless! I put enough butyl tape to feed a nation anyways so I don't think it'll leak

I would blind drill the frame and tap it for a #6, #8 or #10 screw depending on how much material you have to work with and tap it fine thread and epoxy a stud in there. Use a regular nut and washers or fashion a spacer from aluminum to duplicate the clamping area the original pot metal stud and tinnerman nut had.
