Fuel pump makes noise as if its working but no fuel on the filter...this happens when its cold as sh*t when its warm I starts right up Wat can I do for this ? Replace it ? It's a holley electric fuel pump mounted on the passenger wheel well slightly above the headers !

First thing would be to mount it in the proper place back by the fuel tank! Electric pumps are not meant to suck fuel like a mechanical pump. You'll burn one out pretty easy that way.

It also needs to be lower than the tank ideally or close to even but definitely not higher than the headers!

O wow that's something I didn't know ......I bought it in the car that way ...I'm use to walbro255 being a drop in replacement. Whoever said chevys are easier than imports was retarded I admit I got it running for a whole lot less but a lot more work.

g bodys and imports are 2 different worlds.

but like the above. you need to move it to the rear as close to the tank as possible. electric pumps are made to push not pull, mechanical are made to pull, not so much push

Like ghetto kid said get it as close to the gas tank as you can and it will keep the pump a lot cooler. Better yet if you can get a fuel pump that goes in the tank better yet. The gas around it will keep it cool.85-87 Monte Carlos with 4.3 v6 had in tank electric pumps you can put a wide number of different pressure pumps in depending on what you are doing. It wouldn't be to bad to put that system in.

I agree. I would ditch the crappy Holley stuff and go with a Monte TBI tank or Grand National tank and use a Walbro 340 in-tank pump.
It will give you a factory solution and installation and be safer.

good tip about the hieght of the pump!! just out of curiosity why would someone put a electric pump in in the first place. the mechanical ones seem to last a long time and when you have to change em it can literlly be done in about 15 minutes including a smoke a beer break.
