First things First I want to say thank you for those that helped me on here, and to those that dealt with my stupid questions. I'm sure at times I probably pissed some people off.
My baby is ALIVE! bout time huh. I got her running last week when I went home for break. 😀 I had fun fixing the 307.
Here is what was all wrong with it;
- the lifters in cylinder 4 were collapsed
- 2 valve springs where collapsed( one in cyl. #6 and # 3)
- 5 out of 16 pushrods were bent( not including the two my dad snapped off inside the engine already)
- Cam gear and chain were actually "twisted" to a slight degree and chewed up
despite all that nothing else was wrong with the engine. to make sure of this I asked my uncle who has been a machinist and ASE Mastertech for the past 25 years, he checked out the cam and everything I didn't touch.
he gave the all clear so I put everything back together with all new oem parts. to my surprise I didn't mess anything up. Its running on all eight and is performing to factory spec. I have to give credit to Wyotech for that.... I actually learned something and retained it to use it in the field properly 😀 :!: I Also replaced every gasket and seal in the thing to be on the safe side.
You all know I already purchased the SLP LM1's
last time I was home I also repaired the driver side floor pan and prepared the remaining floor.
and Finished bleeding all the brakes.
A new addition to the car hopefully soon will be the B&M 4speed console "mega shifter" $200 plus tax. Purchased it today. Who has one in their car? How do you like it?and Would it be wrong if I took the B&M t- handle off and put my Hurst t-handle on it? I've decided to leave the dual gate for my Future Dream GTO.
With any luck I'll be able to buy some new tires and she should be ready for the road. Should be one more month. I can't wait for that... I've only drove it a couple blocks. THERE WILL BE NO MORE BURNOUTS UNTILL THE MOTOR IS BROKE BACK IN. I am not making that mistake again... that's why I was in this situation in the first place.
I will have pics of everything new and broken as soon as I can get my mother to develop the disposable cameras I took all the pics with. Lets see how long these take to get done, anyone here got a family member that still has old film needing of developed and never gets to them? (this is my fault left the camera home instead of bringing it with me)
