Jeep steering shaft

I've got the exact same story. What I found on the Jeep forums is that you "can" replace them but it's a safety concern as well as a hassle so they just buy a new unit from Crown. Part # 52079050:

Cherokee/ Grand Cherokee, same thing.

hooker blackheart shafts
it's a nice looking piece but i don't care for the make up of it where it has a series of set screws that could back off at some point.if you're looking to switch from the jeep shaft check out the astro van shafts.they don't have the rubber isolator or anything like the jeep version does.

What do you think of the hooker blackheart shafts being sold on E bay?
The Hooker Blackheart shaft looks very similar to the Borgeson steering shafts I made for both of my cars, set screws are not an issue I have had my Monte's on there for 15 years and my Regal has had that one for about 5 years.
