Just bought a 86 Regal T-Type!!!

Soooooooooo, after having a 85 grand prix for the last 10 years, I found a guy selling a 86 t-type with 45k miles on it. He imported it to Canada about 3 years ago from flordia. The body is solid, although the interior is 60/40 bench seats :S I picked it up for $7500CDN. It needs a paint job but since I'm a painter at a GM dealership, thats no problem. After years of never being able to get parts for my GP, I'm finally going to be able to get parts!!!!!!!!!!

I've always wanted one and figured, If I'm going to be dumping money into something, I might as well dump it into something that is worth some $, instead of putting cash into my GP that I will never get back (even though, it's a super nice GP)

I am going to pick it up sometime next week!!

I feel you on trying to get parts for your GP :? I too have looked forever for parts for mine....I also am looking to pick to pick up up a 84 T-type with a blown engine but the asking price is a little steep for now. The person that is selling it hasn't gotten what he is asking for it.

When I say it need a paint job, I mean it REALLY needs a paint job lol. I am going to go black (with copper pearl) on black rims. Yes it's the 3.8 turbo. It's sounded good when it was running, I'm going back today to have another real good look at it before I give him my deposit. I'm excited to actually be able to buy parts!!! The interior is decent but I plan on a total change once I find stuff nice enought for a swap. T-tops, a/c, pw. I'm gonna have to sink in probally 100 hours to get it back to snuff but at least I'll be investing my time into something that can get me some real good money if I ever decide to sell it. I'm gonna miss my GP though 😢 That car has been nothing but good to me all these years. I'm gonna try to get 5k for it. Has 170k not miles, t-tops, 18's american racing TT2's with falken rubber, the frame rails have all be changed, new front end, the paint is a good 80 hour paint job cut and polished by me. the only thing it doesn't have is a 350. I was gonna put one in but in the end the buick came up and I though it was a better investment.
