Hello. I live in Iowa, and the half top on my Regal is less than, well, there. It's ripped all along the top. I'm positive that there is little to no rust under there, do to the entire car being rust free. How much would it be to have it replaced, could I do it myself (never done ANYTHING like this before). and what about that website called Kee Auto Top... are they good? Thanks.

I can tell you at first I was going to replace mine and I contacted Kee Top and they do not make one for these cars, I sent the guy (who was an *******) pictures of my top and he told me they can match the stitching on the seams and send bulk material to make it work. I worked in a garage for years but have never done one myself, we had a guy who came in and did ours but he passed away. I contacted some places close to me because to do one right is a skill, and all the places have no problem doing one on these cars. The only real issue is salvaging the plastic part that the vinyl wraps around the back window. All in all it can be done if you want but I would ask around your area and see who is good, by the time your done with the material and a shop to do it your gonna be in the $700-$1,000 range, you have to remove all the trim pluss the old top and do all that is need to install the new one so the labor will add up in a hurry

They don't make tops for an 85 Regal? Hmm. And I assume that if I took the top off myself and just had them put the new one one (after prepping the top myself of course) it shouldn't be as expensive, right?

i redid mine on my cutlass. i got the replacement pad on ebay and the material think it cost me about 125.00 total. never done it before took about 3 hours.

Cool man.

Guys, thinking about adding the black roof to my '78.... Anyone know where I would buy the piece of trim that goes on the pillar bottom horizontally ?

I don't think you can buy those easily. Or even find them. Sorry to say your best bet might be to go junkyard surfing to find one, or stalking your local craigslist to find someone parting out a GP.
